Student Government-Leadership

The ASB officers at CMS consist of seventh and eight grade students that have been elected by their peers and teachers to make Cobalt a great place to be. We try to affect students at the social and emotional level and have a little fun while we are at it! For the officers, ASB is a place to learn how to create the most effective leadership team. We focus on teaching students how to improve communication skills, human and group relations, carrying out responsibilities, parliamentary process and self-awareness. In turn, what the ASB does for Cobalt is as follows:

• Create a connection between Cobalt and our community with fundraisers like the penny drive.
• Plan and carry out fun Friday events.
• Plan and execute spirit days to create a supportive environment for extracurricular activities.

Each student has the right to run for a seat on the student government. Elections are held in the first month of school. The elected offices are President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.
